“Hands Only” CPR Training
As a part of the world wide “CPR Day” event, local Emergency Medical Service agencies will offer free “hands only” CPR training for members of our community on Wednesday, May 18 at multiple locations throughout the County. Emergency response agencies throughout the world will be participating. Join us here in Santa Barbara County as we attempt to train as many members of our community in “Hands Only” CPR as possible!

Wind Event Causes Major Power Outage
An extreme wind event caused a major power outage in Montecito, resulting in multiple fire department responses throughout the night. Wind gusts surpassing 60 miles per hour separated power lines from power poles, triggering transformer fires, and extreme power surges inside residences.

Trail Rescue, Cold Springs Trail at Tangerine Falls
MONTECITO, CA �March 22, 2016, 2:07 PM� The Montecito Fire Protection District and Santa Barbara Search and Rescue responded to a report of two stranded hikers on the side of a rock, located at the base of Tangerine Falls on the West Fork of the Cold Springs Trail.

March 18, 2016, 4:57 PM� The Montecito Fire Protection District responded to an injured bicyclist reported 100 feet down from the Romero Canyon Trail, approximately 1.5 miles from the top of E. Camino Cielo, and 4.5 miles from the Romero Trailhead.
