Montecito Fire Adds Smaller, Agile Engine to Its Response Capabilities

In conjunction with the "Season of Hope" campaign, Montecito Fire is joining with KSBY and other Santa Barbara County Fire agencies in collecting non-perishable food items and toys for Unity Shoppe throughout this Holiday Season.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has called for a Red Flag Warning to be in effect from late tonight through Sunday morning across the Santa Barbara South Coast, including Montecito. In addition to the Red Flag Warning, the NWS predicts a moderate to strong sundowner wind event tonight into Sunday morning with sustained winds between 30-40 mph and gusts of 50-60 mph.

Montecito Fire Prepares for Predicted Weather Warning

Montecito Fire Protection District will hold a 9/11 remembrance ceremony to honor those who lost their lives on that fateful day in September 2001. The presentation will take place on September 11, 2014 and begin at 6:45 a.m. at Montecito Fire Station #1

"We are extremely happy that this election has passed with a high level of support once again," Fire Chief Chip Hickman stated. "The continued passage of this measure validates the residents' desire for Montecito Fire to continue providing paramedic and fire protection at the service levels they currently receive."
