SEAN MISNER MEMORIAL SERVICE

MONTECITO, Ca. July 11, 2013 - Memorial Services for Sean Misner, one of the Fallen Firefighters of the Granite Mountain Hot Shot Crew, will be held Monday, July 15, Santa Ynez High School in the football stadium (2975 East Highway 246 Santa Ynez, California 93460) from 7PM to 9PM. Parking is very limited and carpooling is encouraged.

Nineteen members of the Granite Mountain Hotshot Crew lost their lives Sunday, June 30th, while battling the 2,000-acre Yarnell Hill fire that was started by lightning on June 28th.

Sean Misner 26, was a 4th generation firefighter who's uncle's Tim and Terry McElwee, grandfather Herb McElwee and great grandfather Chester McElwee were all in the fire service. His cousin Travis McElwee also worked with Sean at the Prescott Fire Department.Sean grew up in Santa Ynez, and graduated from Santa Ynez High School in 2005. He met his wife Amanda while they both worked together at a grocery store in Santa Ynez. Amanda is 7 months pregnant with their first child.

The Montecito Firefighter's Charitable Foundation (a non-profit organization) has established a fund to assist Sean's wife and family.

Donations will be accepted at the Memorial.
