The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department has issued an Evacuation Order for the storm due tonight, February 1, 2019.  The storm is forecast to bring heavy intense rainfall to the area, posing an extreme risk to life and property.

Those located within the debris flow risk areas should leave the area by 8:00 PM this evening.  Persons who refuse to comply with an evacuation order will not be forcibly removed from their home. However, they should not expect rescue or other lifesaving assistance after the onset of the emergency event.

If flooding/debris flow happens, community members may be stranded for several days.  Have a plan for sheltering in place in your home or vehicle if you are caught in a rapidly developing storm.

Authorities will return people home as soon as it is safe to do so.
