Evacuation Order and Warnings lifted for parts of Montecito 01/24/2018 at 12:00

EVACUATION ORDERS AND WARNINGS TO BE LIFTED FOR PARTS OF MONTECITO(SANTA BARBARA, Calif.)

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office has announced that effective at 12 P.M. on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, evacuation orders and warnings will be lifted for parts of Montecito. Additionally, the U.S. 101 on- and off-ramps for San Ysidro Road, Olive Mill Road, Sheffield Road and Evans Road will be open beginning at 12 P.M. today.

The Voluntary Evacuation Warning will be lifted for the following area of Montecito:

  • South of U.S. 101
  • East of Channel Drive
  • North of the ocean
  • West of Olive Mill Road/Channel Drive

The Mandatory Evacuation Order will be lifted for the following area of Montecito:

  • South of U.S. 101
  • East of Via Del Mar (excluding Seaview Drive)/1307 Danielson Road/Intersection of Olive Mill Road and Virginia Road, to the east end of Fernald Point Lane
  • North of the ocean

And also lifted for the following area:

  • North of U.S. 101
  • East of and including La Vuelta Road/1750 San Leandro Ln/Boeseke Parkway/Ennisbrook Drive/Meadowbrook Drive/Midwick Place/Valley Club Road
  • West of Ortega Ridge Road
  • South of E. Valley Road

For entry into this last area, please use U.S. 101 to San Ysidro Road to N. Jameson Road.

Corrections are being made to the interactive evacuation map for the following area of Montecito that remains under a Mandatory Evacuation Order:

  • East of State Route 192/Sycamore Canyon Road between 2535 Sycamore Canyon Road/SR 192 and Camino Viejo Road.

The County’s interactive evacuation map will be updated at 12 P.M. on Wednesday, January 24 to reflect changes made to evacuation orders and warnings.  Please visit www.countyofsb.org to access the interactive evacuation map or call the Public Information Call Center at 833-688-5551 for assistance.

The boil water notice for the area is still in effect.  Residents returning to the area are asked to drive cautiously due to the ongoing presence of heavy truck traffic.  Restoration of certain utilities continues.  Residents are to contact utilities companies directly for restoration assistance and questions.

If evacuated residents who are returning to their residences have a need for wheelchair or other specialized transport needs, call Easy Lift at 805-681-1180.

It is critical that people in Santa Barbara County register to receive emergency alerts. Sign up at www.AwareAndPrepare.org. If we can’t reach you, we can’t alert you.
