It’s very windy, hot & dry in Montecito! As a result, our fire risk is increased. In addition to our regular staffing, we are staffing our two Type 6 engines.

Important details on the forecast:

  • Winds gusts will be 40-50mph with isolated gusts of 60-70mph in the mountains & foothills of Montecito.
  • Daytime highs will be in the upper 80s to mid-90s for the next couple of days.
  • While the vegetation is relatively green and a Red Flag Warning is NOT in place, humidities are quite low.
  • Significant cooling is expected this weekend.
  • Please be cautious during elevated fire danger conditions and carefully consider your wildfire action plan. Review Ready! Set! Go! here https://tinyurl.com/yc49k4u2 & follow National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard on social media for forecast updates.
