Significant rain and wind event to begin March 27

🌧Prepare for rain! Here’s what you need to know, thanks to US National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard. 

⏰When will it start? 
Rain will develop Sunday afternoon over the Central Coast and move south into the evening. 

⛈When will the rain be heaviest? 
Prepare for heavy rain Sunday night into Monday morning. Scattered showers may continue through Monday afternoon with a chance for heavy downpours and thunderstorms.

☔️How much rain? 
On the South Coast, 1-3” with locally higher amounts in the mountains and foothills. 

⚠️Any risk of major flooding or debris flow? 
NO - Localized ponding and nuisance flooding are possible. Recent burn areas like the Alisal Fire may be more significantly impacted. 

💨Wind? 
Gusty NW winds 30-50mph will follow the rain Monday night into Tuesday. 

💦How to prepare? 
Make sure you’re signed up for emergency alerts at ReadySBC.org and monitor the weather forecast. A sandbag filling station is set up at Lower Manning Park. Please bring shovels to fill your sandbags.
