Red Flag Warning for Montecito

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for the south coast of Santa Barbara, including Montecito from Sunday, December 3rd at 6:00 PM through to Monday, December 4th at 6:00 AM.

Predicted gusty north winds peaking at 35 – 50 miles per hour, and very low humidity bring critical fire weather conditions to the area. If fire ignition occurs, the potential for rapid-fire spread and extreme fire behavior is very likely, causing imminent threat to life and property.

BE PREPARED – have an evacuation plan ready. Go to our website: www.montecitofire.com, the “Ready, Set, Go!” program is under the Community Outreach tab. This has valuable information on how you can prepare for a Wildland Fire emergency.

IF WE CAN’T REACH YOU, WE CAN’T ALERT YOU – If you haven’t registered for emergency alerts, please do so at: www.awareandprepare.com. Click on the red icon to register to receive emergency alerts via text, cell or home phone, and email. In light of the devastating wildfires all throughout California, we urge you to prepare for an emergency before it strikes.
