Assistant Fire Marshal Johnson has been with the Montecito Fire protection District since .

As Asst. Fire Marshal for the Fire District Kirk continues to Supervise the implementation of project development and time management to code enforcement and compliance of the Uniform Fire Code, Title 19 C.C.R. and references to the Uniform Building Codes.

Kirk oversees the Inspection and Wildland Mitigation programs, as well as contributing to the engineering/inspection of fire suppression systems which have been installed in Commercial buildings, Schools and residential structures to insure they are maintained in an acceptable manner and to provide a remedy for specific violations on an annual basis.

Within the Incident Command system at fire emergencies, Kirk is qualified as a Strike Team Leader and is active in the U.S.A.R. system.
