Curtis Vincent has been working for the Montecito Fire Protection District since 1994 as our Wildland Fire Specialist.
He has extensive experience in wildland fire management completing a 27-year career with the U.S. Forest Service.
Curtis retired in 1994 as a Division Chief for the Los Padres National Forest with a background in Suppression, Prevention and Law Enforcement. He worked with Hand Crews, Helicopters, Engines and was a Prescribed Fire Manager.
In addition to his wildland fire experience Curtis worked 6 years for the Carpinteria-Summerland Fire Protection District as a Fire Engineer.
Curtis still remains active in wildland fires and is often involved in overhead fire positions. His Incident Qualification (Red Card): Incident Commander, Operations Section Chief, Information Officer and Safety Officer.
Local Background: Attended local schools, Montecito Union and Santa Barbara High, Santa Barbara and Ventura City College.
After graduation he spent several years in the U.S. Army as a Chaplains Assistant.
