Common Firefighter Requirements and Recruitment Planning
Requirements commonly necessary to be eligible to test for firefighter include (but may vary with department):
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- California Class "C" Drivers License
- California State Firefighter One Certificate or Academy
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
Additional training/experience which may benefit in your recruitment process:
- Additional fire training classes.
- Rescue Systems One.
- Paramedic training.
- Time with other agencies, whether volunteer or paid/paid call.
