MONTECITO, CA - The National Weather Service has predicted high temperatures, low humidity's and possible local sundowner winds until midnight across the Santa Barbara South Coast, including Montecito. An elevated sense of awareness is imperative during this extreme weather situation.

In anticipation of the predicted weather event, Montecito Fire has increased staffing levels in the District of one Patrol unit, and one additional dispatcher.

Montecito residents should take this time to evaluate their preparedness levels. We recommend using the Ready! Set! Go! Program; available on our website (www.montecitofire.com), and at all Montecito Fire Stations for tips on how to prepare your homes and family for wildfire. The website also links to the Montecito Water District for important water saving tips, a resource critical to the control of wildfires.

Governor Brown has called on all Californians to reduce their water use and prevent water waste -visit drought.ca.gov to learn more about how California is dealing with the effects of the drought.
