The National Weather Service issued a Red Flag Warning for south coast of Santa Barbara, including Montecito from Thursday, October 12th through Saturday, October 14th at 10:00 AM. Predicted gusty north winds peaking at 30 – 40 miles per hour, and very low humidity ranging from 5–15 percent bring critical fire weather conditions to the area.  If fire ignition occurs, the potential for rapid-fire spread and extreme fire behavior is very likely, causing imminent threat to life and property.

BE PREPARED – have an evacuation plan ready. Go to our website: www.montecitofire.com, the “Ready, Set, Go!” program is under the Community Outreach tab. This has valuable information on how you can prepare for a Wildland Fire emergency.

IF WE CAN’T REACH YOU, WE CAN’T ALERT YOU – If you haven’t registered for emergency alerts, please do so at: awareandprepare.org. Click on the red icon to register to receive emergency alerts via text, cell or home phone, and email.

In light of the devastating wildfires all throughout California, we urge you to prepare for an emergency before it strikes.
